Complaints Procedure
If you are unhappy with the service provided by a barrister in Ajasin Chambers, you may file
a complaint. All complaints will be acknowledged promptly (not later than 14 days from the
date of receipt of the complaint. Full details of Chambers’ complaint procedure will be sent
either electronically or by post on request. Please note that the complaint will first be dealt with
internally. If not resolved satisfactorily internally, a complaint can be made to the Legal
Ombudsman. Details will be outlined in the complaints procedure available on request.

You must complain to the Legal Ombudsman either within six years of your barrister’s
actions/failure to act, or no later than three years after you should reasonably have known there
were grounds to complain. You must also complain to the Legal Ombudsman within six months
of receiving your barrister’s final response to your complaint.
The decision data on Legal Ombudsman’s website shows providers which received an
ombudsman’s decision in the previous 12 months. In each case, the data shows whether the on
Legal Ombudsman required the provider to give the consumer a remedy. This page will allow
you to see whether a barrister was required to provide any remedies in the previous 12 months.
This will help you to make informed decisions about whom to instruct.
